The Los Angeles Rams have granted the release request of quarterback Nick Foles, who will now become the best free agent quarterback on the market. Foles chose to take a cut in his guaranteed money the Rams owed him in 2016 so that he can become a free agent and sign with a team of his choice.

Foles struggled mighilty in his one season with the Rams. Foles started in the Rams first nine games until he was benched for Case Keenum. Foles threw only seven touchdowns and had six interceptions and five fumbles in the Rams 4-5 start.

Foles will have options to find a backup quarterback job, but he may be looking for a team with a shaky starting quarterback situation with the hope to potentially earn a starting job. NFL Live host Trey Wingo tweeted his thoughts on teams that could be interested in Foles. Wingo tweeted, “In a QB starved league you could expect Jets, Broncos, Chiefs and Niners all to entertain the idea of Nick Foles.”

The Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers are two interesting situations that may intrigue Foles. The Broncos have a true quarterback competition this summer and Foles could fit right in to a competition headlined by Mark Sanchez and Trevor Siemian. With the 49ers, Foles would reunite with his former Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly, who he has had past success with.

Foles has shown that he can succeed as a starting quarterback in this league in the right system. It is unlikely Foles will be able to find the perfect home as training camps begin, but he have a chance to rebuild his value and hope to find that perfect home next offseason.
