The rumors continue to swirl around potential free agent destinations for NBA star forward Kevin Durant. Durant realizes he will be one of the biggest headlines in the NBA this offseason.

Durant does his best to keep his focus on this current season, but realizes the media and fans know what is on the horizon this summer. Durant stated, “It’s out of my control. Guys are going to write stories, write what they want to write about, but I just try to stay locked in where I am and try to be the best teammate and help my team win a championship.”

Durant has known one NBA team his entire career and has always put the Thunder in position to compete in the Western Conference. Similar to LeBron when he originally left the Cleveland Cavaliers, it may be time for Durant to move on and find an NBA team with the right pieces around him.

Surely every NBA team would love to have a player like Kevin Durant, but there are plenty of intriguing options that would make sense. The teams that could be fits for Durant are the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers and Washington Wizards

There are rumors that Golden State would be heavy favorites if Durant bolts in free agency. The Lakers will be losing Kobe Bryant to retirement and have a young core and salary cap to work with. Durant is from the Washington, D.C. area and they would love to bring the star back home. “Like I said, when that time comes we’ll talk about it, but for right now I’m 100 percent locked in and committed to being the best teammate and player I can be and helping my team get a championship.”

The rumors will continue to flow all season, but Kevin Durant will be the most talked about basketball player this coming summer.
